Greg Crowley, founder of Runtime Executive

About

Greg Crowley

Runtime Executive is built on a career spent leading security, technology, and governance programs across regulated industries and high-growth environments. Greg brings executive-level clarity to organizations grappling with AI adoption, cybersecurity risk, and enterprise trust.

His work spans both sides of the enterprise: advising organizations adopting AI internally and helping AI and cybersecurity companies build products that enterprises will actually trust and buy. That dual lens creates a perspective most advisors simply cannot offer.

The approach is grounded in operational reality, focused on outcomes, and built for leaders who need to make decisions with confidence.

Background

The Operating Experience

Greg has held security leadership roles across media, entertainment, cybersecurity, and financial services. As VP of Cybersecurity at WWE, he built and led the enterprise security function. As CISO at eSentire, he ran security for a managed detection and response platform protecting thousands of organizations across 80 countries.

That operating background shapes everything about how Runtime Executive works. Advisory is grounded in the realities of building programs, presenting to boards, managing incidents, and navigating the pressures that come with being the person accountable for risk.

Today, Greg advises enterprise leaders navigating AI adoption, security program design, and governance. He also works with AI and cybersecurity vendors to pressure-test products, sharpen positioning, and understand what enterprise buyers actually care about.

His book, Secure AI Enablement: A CISO's Practical Guide to Governing AI at Scale, captures the runtime control architecture that organizations need to govern AI responsibly while moving fast.
